    Polyether modified silicone oil is modified by grafting polyether segments on the hydrophobic silicone backbone. The siloxane part in polyether modified silicone oil provides: reduce surface tension, resist ultraviolet rays, adjust gloss and viscosity, silicone is hydrophobic but not lipophilic. The polyether moiety provides: polar groups, varying degrees of water solubility, lipophilicity. Polyether is generally synthesized from ethylene oxide and propylene oxide. Polyether molecules are composed of ethoxy chain segments (EO) and propoxy chain segments (PO). EO is negatively charged and has electric absorption, which increases the polarity of the molecule. The more EO, the more hydrophilic the molecule. There is a methyl group in PO. The methyl group is an electron donating group, which can reduce the polarity of the molecule. The more PO, the more hydrophobic the molecule. The hydrophilic polyether chain segment makes the product have good surface activity. By changing the type, quantity and location of the introduced polyether, the hydrophilic and lipophilic properties can be effectively adjusted to obtain different emulsification, foam stabilization and defoaming properties.
